Donnie Nietes Maintains Light Flyweight Titles After UD Against Francisco Rodriguez Jr.

Donnie Nietes retained his WBO and The Ring Magazine Light Flyweight titles after a unanimous decision win against Francisco Rodriguez Jr.

While Rodriguez placed constant pressure on Nietes throughout the fight, it was no match for Nietes defense. Judges scored the fight at 119-109, 118-110, and 115-113, all in favor of Nietes.

Nietes showed that he dominated the light flyweight division, despite being 11 years older than his opponent.

Nietes record now stands at 36-1-4-21 knockouts and is currently the only Filipino boxer with a world championship.
