Julio César Chávez, Jr.: Unanimous Decision Win Against Marcos Reyes

Julio César Chávez, Jr. wins by unanimous decision against Marcos Reyes at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso, Texas on Saturday night.

The win comes after a controversial weigh-in the day before, with Chávez, Jr. not making weight. Chávez, Jr. weighed in at 170.8 lbs, weighing over .8 lbs. than the agreed weight limit.

The very second Chávez, Jr. and Reyes both entered the ring, it was extremely evident that Chávez, Jr. was almost a giant compared to the much smaller Reyes. While he was being criticized for his size and lack of technique, Chávez, Jr. was dominating over Reyes.

Chávez, Jr. suffered a cut to his left eye in the ninth round due to a headbutt. A point was deducted from Reyes.

Right at the end of the 10th round, Reyes fell to the floor, but was not knocked out.

Judges scored the fight at 97-92, 98-91, and 96-93. All were in favor of Chávez, Jr..

Chávez, Jr. record now stands at 49-2-1.
