“Pinoy Pride!” really showed up tonight at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA.
Supporters from different backgrounds watched the event.
All Filipino boxers made their fellow countrymen proud and delivered victories. Jason “El Nino” Pagara, Albert “Prince” Pagara, and Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo delivered KO and TKO victories while Donnie “Ahas” Nietes retained his titles in a unanimous decision.
What’s next for the boxers?
“In January!” exclaimed Jason “El Nino” Pagara, “Here!” indicating that he wants to fight again in the U.S.
Coincidentally, Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria fought Goman “El Chocolatito” Gonzalez as an undercard for the Golovkin/Lemieux fight.
Viloria lost via TKO.
So, how does this exactly tie in to everything?
Nietes wants to fight Gonzalez.
“We’ve started discussing about that,” Michael Aldeguer, CEO of ALA Boxing said, “we’ve talked to Roman Gonzalez’ promoter, K2 Promotions.”
However, out of respect, talks about a Nietes vs. Gonzalez fight wasn’t furthered discussed as Brian Viloria had a fight against Gonzalez and Nietes had his fight against Juan “Pinky” Alejo at the same time. Plus, Nietes has an upcoming fight in March.
“We’re looking at maybe early or towards the end of next year.” Aldeguer continued.
Got excited? Don’t worry. Me too.
