Floyd Mayweather shows nothing but respect for Holly Holm on Twitter after she called him, “The greatest of all time” in a Rolling Stone magazine article:
This comes fresh after Holly Holm’s second round KO victory against Ronda Rousey last week.
Fans have imagined what a fight would be like if Rousey and Mayweather fought.
Rousey has even chimed in with her her own remarks. In an AMA on Reddit in August of this year, Rousey said:
Do I think I would legit beat Mayweather in a ruleless fight? Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time. He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don’t get into “matches”. I fight for a living. In a no rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet. Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that’s my honest answer.
But, after Rousey’s loss against Holly Holm, Mayweather still gave credit to Rousey. Even going as far to defending her:
“I don’t think it’s cool how everyone is trolling her on social media. “Certain things you have to learn. People will love you on Friday, and then Sunday morning, it’s nothing but negative comments and people making jokes and people making fun about you, which I don’t think is cool.
I’m proud of the new girl, Holly, and I’m proud of Ronda. She’s only been here for a very, very short time and she’s built a great fanbase, and she did it with not so many fights.”
