In what many fans are calling a complete “mismatch”, David Haye defeated Arnold Gjergjaj with a solid TKO in the second round of what was supposed to be a 10 round bout in the O2 Arena in London on Saturday night.
Haye completely dominated the fight.
In the first minute alone, Haye knocked Gjergjaj down with a right. After the knock down, Gjergjaj kept his hands up, reluctant to attack. For the remainder of the first round, Gjergjaj did what he could to stay out of harms way.
The end of the first round ended in controversy.
Haye knocked down Gjergjaj once again with a right to the head, seemingly after the bell. Gjergjaj compained to the referee that the it was a hit to the back of the head.
The second round was no different.
Again, Gjergjaj kept his defense up and did what he could to avoid an attack. It was to no avail as Haye sent Gjergjaj down for the third time in the fight with a left.
Haye was throwing combos, making Gjergjaj stumble.
Haye sent Gjergjaj to the floor for the fourth and final time. The referee immediately ended the fight, with Haye winning by TKO victory.
Despite Gjergjaj’s undefeated record, many felt that Haye chose to fight a “bum” and that his “comeback” is starting off as a joke.
