Gennady “GGG” Golovkin to Face Kell Brook on Sept. 10 in London

In Golovkin’s first fight in the UK, he will face Kell Brook in the O2 Arena in London, England for the WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight titles.

Brook will move up two weight divisions to fight Golovkin. The fight will be at standard middleweight at 160 lbs.

Many fans find the match-up a huge shocker, as many were expecting Brook to fight Khan and Golovkin to fight Canelo.

Another prospect for Golvokin was Chris Eubank Jr., who failed to sign the contract before a deadline. According to Eddie Hearn, Chris Eubank Jr. made the negotiations “impossible”:

“We got into a position where everybody was ready to sign. He (Eubank Jr) was offered the same pay-per-view deal as Anthony Joshua, Carl Froch and the one that Kell Brook accepted. Unfortunately they (the Eubanks) made the deal impossible. The things they wanted were just a complete no-go. They were given a deadline and they chose not to take the fight.”

Chris Eubank Jr. denied that he was even shown a contract on Twitter:

“I haven’t been shown one contract since my fight with GGG was announced. I’m still ready & waiting to sign. Fighting Brook is a joke.”

Tom Loeffler, Gennady Golovkin’s manager, revealed thaat Brook took and accepted the same terms that were offered to Eubank Jr.

Both Brook and Golovkin are undefeated, with Brook’s record at 36-0-0 and 25 KOs while Golovkin’s record stands at 35-0-0 and 32 KOs.
